Description |
| The Georgia Department
of Human Resources (DHR), Division
of Aging Services, is seeking qualified candidates for the position
of Aging Services Coordinator in
the Community Care Services Section.
|
Under limited
supervision, plans, develops, manages and coordinates assigned areas
of the statewide Division
of Aging Services Community Care Services Program (CCSP) for the
elderly and/or disabled.
Participates in development of statewide policies and procedures for
assigned program areas. Provides expert consultation and technical
assistance to state, field and/or contractor staff in the area of
assignment, assuring compliance with federal and state laws, rules
and regulations. May supervise professional and/or support staff.
Responsibilities include heavy emphasis on analysis of programmatic,
fiscal and outcome data in the daily management and oversight of programs.
Travel is required. |

Qualifications |
Completion of
a four-year degree in Human Services, Social Work, Public Administration,
Business Administration, or related field and five
years experience in human services for adults and/or the elderly,
at least three of which must have included supervisory or program
management responsibilities. Note: Experience
may be substituted for education if evaluated as equivalent. |
| Preferred
Qualifications |
| Preference will
be given to candidates, who in addition to meeting the qualifications
listed above, possess the following: |
- Experience in the statewide aging services network either within
an Area Agency on Aging or service provider agency; or within
the Adult Protective Services Program; or with in the Community
Care Services Program
- Strong proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GroupWise, etc
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Supervisory experience
- Experience in providing consultation and technical assistance
on policy interpretation and clarification
- Preparing and managing budgets
- Experience in developing and presenting training curricula
