| The Georgia Department
of Human Resources, Division
of Family and Children Services (DFCS) is seeking candidates for
the position of Social Services Case
Manager in Metro Atlanta. See
Map under Area Information below. |

Under general
supervision, investigates, provides follow-up, or provides adoption
and placement resources in cases of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Child Protective Services
(CPS)- Social Services Case Managers assess the level of risk to
children by conducting face to face interviews with alleged child
victims and their caretakers. Other activities in this role may
include working with our schools, courts, community partners and
child's extended family to identify resources to improve that child's
quality of life. This position may also be
subject to on-call scheduling and will require the use of a car
for travel.
Foster Care (FC)
- Social Services Case Managers are the child’s case manager
and their main responsibility is to ensure the child has a permanent
stable family situation within as short a time as possible. This
involves many things: visits to foster homes; supervising visits
between children and their parents; testifying in Court regarding
the status of the agency and/or parent’s progress towards
the court approved placement. This position
will require the use of a car for travel and transportation of clients
(children) |

Qualifications |
- Social Services Case Manager/Specialist
$32,418
- Masters of Social Work (MSW)
- Social Services Case Manager/Advanced
$30,869
- Bachelors of Social Work (BSW)
- Social Services Case Manager $29,399
- Undergraduate Degree in Behavioral Science and 1 year social
services experience (paid or volunteer) or
DFCS internship
|
A Bachelors or
Masters Degree in Social Work must come from a School of Social Work
recognized by the Council on Social Work Education (www.cswe.org).
All other educational requirements must be recognized by the Council
for Higher Education Accreditation (www.chea.org)
and/or the US Department
of Education (DOE)
