Description |
| The Georgia Department
of Human Services, Division
of Aging Services (DAS) is seeking qualified candidates for
the position of Aging Services Program Administrator.
This
is a time limited position and will end 9-29-14. |
| This position is required
for the oversight of the Older Americans Act Title IV Part A - “Accelerating
Integrated, Evidence-Based, and Sustainable Service Systems for Older
Adults, Individuals with Disabilities and Family Caregivers”
and Part B – “Creating Dementia Capable, Sustainable Service
Systems For Persons With Dementia And Their Family Caregivers”
grants
Applicant will be responsible for overall administration
of grant implementation that will ensure that older adults, individuals
with disabilities and family caregivers have clear and ready access
to a sustainable, integrated system that offers a comprehensive
set of high quality, evidence-based services that can help them
remain independent and healthy in the community.
The position responsibilities include contract and budget management.
The incumbent will be responsible for organizing and monitoring
all activities associated with the grant and will include working
with program specialists within the Livable Communities section
and with other program owners across DAS sections to perform the
following functions: implement a rapid–cycle planning phase;
develop a highly visible and easily accessible network of information,
assistance and access; increase access for persons with early stage
Alzheimer’s disease; infuse options counseling and assistance
and self-direction throughout the service delivery system; implement
streamlined eligibility determination at the ADRC/Gateway level;
implement person centered care transitions across multiple settings;
implement a comprehensive array of services that are available statewide;
implement a robust quality assurance system; develop and implement
statewide caregiver education and training programs; implement statewide
telephone reassurance program; evaluate telephone support and caregiver
support programs; develop a sustainable service delivery system,
and prepare all required reports. |
| Qualifications
|
Completion of a four-year
degree in human services or social work administration, public administration,
public administration, business administration, or related field AND
Four years experience at a level equivalent to Division of Aging Services
Coordinator OR
Completion of a Master’s degree in a human services field, or
in social work, public administration or a closely related field AND
Two years experience at a level equivalent to Division of Aging Services
Coordinator. |
| Preference will be
given to candidates, who in addition to meeting the qualifications
listed above, possess the following: |
- Licensure or certification in a field related to the
area of assignment, e.g. certification in Gerontology
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- AoA demonstration grant management including submission of
reports and data collection and analysis
- Extensive experience with developing Excel spreadsheets and
management budgets that include multiple contractors and varying
match and or in-kind requirements
- Knowledge of and experience working with Aging Network, Medicaid
waiver programs and managed care, Gateway/ ADRC Programs and experience
with Quality Assurance.
- Strong proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GroupWise, ACCESS, Microsoft Project,
etc.

Note: Current state employees are subject to
the statewide salary plan administration practices. This position
is a pay grade 17 on the statewide salary plan. |
